The short version

1. Who we are

Dizzipline ("we", "us") is a student-built study app available at dizzipline.app. It turns your coursework into missions, XP and streaks, with an AI assistant called Dizzi. Questions about this policy: support@dizzipline.app.

Dizzipline is an independent app. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any school unless that school says so.

2. What we collect and why

DataWhy we use itWhere it's kept
Dizzipline progress: XP, level, streaks, which assignments you completed in the app, focus minutes, and any difficulty or time estimates you edit To run the game: levels, streaks and rewards. In our database, linked to an anonymous ID created from your Dizzipline account with a one-way code. It does not contain your name or email.
Dizzi chat messages To answer your questions using AI. See section 3. We don't store chat text. We log the time of each message, the anonymous ID, whether the AI answered, and how long it took.
Your Dizzipline account: email address, password (stored only in scrambled form by our account provider), display name, and the school you chose To sign you in and keep your setup and coursework attached to you. With our account provider, Supabase. Each student can only read their own profile.
Files and text you add to Import with Dizzi (for example a syllabus PDF, screenshots, or pasted text) To find your courses, assignments and due dates. See section 3. Sent to Google's Gemini API to be read, then dropped. Dizzipline doesn't save the files or the text, and never logs their contents.
Mission Breakdown: the assignment's title, type, due date and description (if it has one) So Dizzi can split the assignment into small steps with times and mini-deadlines. See section 3. Sent to Google's Gemini API to make the plan, then dropped. Dizzipline saves only the steps (short titles, times, mini-deadlines, which ones you finished) and a daily count of how many plans you made, which limits AI use.
Assignments you import or add yourself: course name and code, assignment title, due date and time, type, time estimate, difficulty, and whether you completed it To turn them into missions, reminders and plans. In our database, linked to an anonymous ID created from your account with a one-way code (not your email). Only the assignments you confirm on the review screen are saved.
Rewards and leaderboard: your first name, login days, which Dizzi skin you wear, and whether you show on the leaderboard To give the daily login reward and skins, and to rank students by XP on the leaderboard. In our database, linked to the same anonymous ID. Other students see only your first name, level, XP, streak and skin on the leaderboard, and only while "Show me on the leaderboard" is on (Profile).
Demo workspace To let you try Dizzipline with sample coursework. Only in your open browser tab. Demo progress isn't saved and disappears when you leave the demo.
First name and email typed during setup To personalize your setup during the beta. Saved only in your own browser on your device. Not sent to our servers.
Usage analytics (see section 4) To understand which features work and where people get stuck. With our analytics provider, PostHog.

3. Dizzi AI

When you chat with Dizzi, your message, the last few messages of the conversation, and a summary of your open assignments (names, course names, due dates, time estimates) plus your XP and streak are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply.

During the beta, Dizzipline uses Google's free Gemini API tier. Under Google's terms, content sent through the free tier may be used by Google to improve its products, and may be read by human reviewers. Please don't share sensitive personal information (for example health, financial or ID details) in Dizzi chat.

Mission Breakdown works the same way: when you open an assignment, its title, type and description (if it has one) are sent to the Gemini API so Dizzi can plan 3 to 7 small steps. Dizzi is set up to coach, not to do your work: it plans what to do, never writes the answers. Each student can make a limited number of AI plans per day.

Import with Dizzi works the same way: the files and text you add are sent to the Gemini API so it can list your assignments, under the same Google terms described above. Leave out anything private you don't need to share, like student ID numbers or grades. Dizzi can misread a file, which is why you review every assignment before anything is saved.

Dizzi's answers can be wrong. Always check important details, like due dates and instructions, in your syllabus or with your professor.

Which AI runs Dizzi. Dizzi's replies are made by Google's Gemini API or by Anthropic's Claude API, depending on which one Dizzipline has switched on at the time. Voice typing always uses Google's Gemini API. The same data described above is sent to whichever one is in use to make the reply, under that company's API terms.

4. Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog to understand how Dizzipline is used. It records:

Analytics is sent through our own address (dizzipline.app) and passed on to PostHog. Our server doesn't keep or read it on the way.

We never send your name, email, course names, assignment titles, grades or chat messages to analytics.

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. PostHog uses a cookie and browser storage to recognize returning visitors. If you block analytics with a browser extension, Dizzipline still works normally.

5. Who we share data with

We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising. We only share data with services that run Dizzipline:

We may also share information if the law requires it.

6. How long we keep data

7. Your choices

8. Security

Dizzipline uses HTTPS on every page, encrypted connections to our database, and access to production data is limited to the Dizzipline team. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private.

9. Students and schools

Dizzipline is meant for students managing their own coursework. We use the assignments a student adds only to provide Dizzipline's features to that student. Dizzipline is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

11. Dizzi video waitlist

If you join the waitlist at dizzipline.app/video, we store:

Only Dizzipline's server can read the waitlist. The page shows you only your own position and the number of founding spots left, never other people's details. The waitlist is stored in our Neon database. We don't sell it or share it for advertising.

To leave the waitlist or have your details deleted, email support@dizzipline.app from the address you signed up with. We keep waitlist details until Dizzi launches and you decide whether to use it, or until you ask us to delete them.
